PURPOSE:
- To establish an international organization to aid and guide the practitioners of Karate, Kung-Fu, Tae Kwondo and similar Martial Arts to a high level of learning development and a high standard of quality Karate training and ranking.
GOALS:
- To be open-minded to all martial artists of Oriental methods of hand and foot fighting, regardless of style or country of origin
- To recommend seminars and clinics to develop high levels of quality of technique, competition, and martial arts philosophy in Shorinji Zendo-Ryu Karate and the original Way of Zen (Zendo) from the Shaolin Temple (Shorinji).

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP:
- A worldwide highly qualified organization to maintain the standards for techniques and rank level of its member schools. The AMA of Karate membership allows students to take tests and earn certified belts from beginner to black belt level in their own dojo, or school’s organization
- A truly open organization that accepts all styles of Karate, Kung-Fu, Tae-Kwondo and related Oriental hand
and foot fighting arts.
- Our organization follows the International Traditional Karate Federation tournament rules, which are the same as used for official international competition.( Used by one hundred countries worldwide). However, your school can choose to compete in any tournament and use any rules they wish.
- Your membership card is your assurance that your school is a qualified school meeting high standards and that its belts may be recognized worldwide. Refer schools you visit to our website.
- Membership to the AJKAI will allow you to compete in local, national, and international competitions.
- Your membership card is your pass to many special classes held by your member dojo or discounts on various events sponsored by your school. Note: If you are an individual member, recommend that your dojo join.
- AJKAI headquarters has 50 high-ranking masters (5th degree to 10th degree) from many different styles, as our advisors on technique and style. Many old masters who taught or advised Prof. Skornia may now be deceased, but their knowledge and experience lives on through Grandmaster Skornia and our advanced members.
- A duly authorized organization to promote karate and set standards for rank for Shorinji Zendo-ryu Karate.
- Black Belts may attend our judges and referee clinics. (Offered through AAKF and ITKF worldwide).
- AJKAI maintains a Zen Master from Japan and our staff is trained in Soto, Rinzai, and Vietnamese Zen tradition. Correspondence training is also available.
